Lilliston-Sweet Danes

Hi my name is Paula, and I would like to tell you about how I acquired Major
my Harlequin Great Dane, and then how Misty came about. One day my friend
John and I were sitting around and talking about dogs. He told me about
when he was a little boy he had a mixed breed dog named Boots. He said one
day he went to school and when he returned his mother told him that Boots
went to the farm. She told him it was a better place, even though he missed
him he thought he was having a great time. He realized as he got older what
the farm actually meant.  I had told him of a story about how I got
acquainted with Great Danes. My ex-husband was a Veterinarian. One day a
client came in with a Great Dane in labor, and needed a C-section. We
couldn't save her, but she had 8 beautiful puppies. The problem was the
owner wasn't able to take care of these puppies without their mother. So I
not knowing how hard it would be to bottle feed, burp, and we know the rest,
volunteered to try and save these beautiful pups. It was very hard work,
but I fought with every thing I had to save them, and in the end we saved
two. It was the most rewarding and awesome experience I ever had. And
through the years watching dogs come in and out of the clinic, my heart
always went toward Great Danes. One day I was online and I saw this adorable puppy for sale.  I called to see if he was available, and thankfully, he was.  And that is how Major came about.  Marie Somershoe finished Major in four and a half months.
As time went by we realized
that he needed a buddy. I told my friend Carol, of Patriotdanes, that I
was looking for a Mantle to go with Major. She recommended Saravilla Great
Danes, because she had seen Dublin in one of the dog shows, and said he was
outstanding! So I went on line and saw that she had puppies available, and
the rest is history.
Mimi Kim of Saravailla Great Danes has been instrumental
with Misty in beginning her show career and has always been there to help me with Major.  I could not have met a better breeder.   She is always there when I need her!
Also, a special thanks to Reesa Zullo, with her expertise in animal training, who played a large part
in Major's career.
Misty finished her Championship June 5th, 2010, and her Grand Championship Aug. 22, 2010.  Misty is the first Grand Champion Mantle in History.  She is being Specialed  by Joel Rosenblatt.  She has multiple Best of Breed wins, and Group wins!
