Hello, I'm Paula, and I'd like to share the heartwarming stories of how Major, my beloved Harlequin Great Dane, and Misty, our Grand Champion Mantle, became a part of our lives.

One day, while conversing with my friend John, we exchanged stories about our experiences with dogs. John reminisced about his childhood dog, Boots, a mixed breed companion sent to "the farm" while he was at school, leaving him with fond memories that gained deeper meaning with age.

I, in turn, recounted my introduction to Great Danes, rooted in my ex-husband's veterinary practice. There, we faced the challenging task of saving a Great Dane mother in labor through a C-section. Although we couldn't rescue her, she left us with eight beautiful puppies. The owner, unable to care for the pups without their mother, prompted me to step up and attempt the demanding task of bottle-feeding and nurturing them. It was a laborious effort, but with unwavering determination, we managed to save two of these precious puppies. The experience was profoundly rewarding and left an indelible mark on my heart, drawing me closer to Great Danes over the years.

One fateful day, I stumbled upon an adorable puppy for sale online and, upon making the call, discovered that Major was available. This serendipitous moment marked the beginning of our journey with Major, who was expertly handled by Marie Somershoe, finishing in just four and a half months.

As time passed, it became evident that Major needed a buddy. I reached out to my friend Carol of Patriotdanes, sharing my desire to find a Mantle companion for Major, and from there, the rest is history.

I'd also like to extend special thanks to Reesa Zullo for her invaluable expertise in animal training, a crucial component in Major's successful career.

Misty, our beloved Mantle Great Dane, achieved remarkable milestones, finishing her Championship on June 5th, 2010, and earning her Grand Championship on August 22, 2010. She made history as the first Grand Champion Mantle and stood out in the top twenty all breed, boasting numerous Best of Breed wins and Group victories.

Furthermore, Misty's legacy continues through her offspring, Ryder and Taylor, born on October 18, 2011, who are currently shining in the show ring and carrying forward the spirit of excellence.
